About Daylesford, Victoria
The town of Daylesford and village of Hepburn reflect the character of their earliest heritage when gold-mining drew fortune-seekers from afar, Swiss-Italian miners and other immigrants settled here and people travelled from Melbourne to "take the waters". A broad range of holistic health services, provided in conjunction with the mineral springs and spas, continues the region's long tradition as a place of healing.
Daylesford is well known for its acclaimed cuisine, cellar doors, award winning day spas, spectacular scenery, natural mineral springs, historic streetscapes, funky shops and fabulous art. A walk around Lake Daylesford is just long enough for those wishing to keep fit. Longer walking trails can be found all around Hepburn Shire.
Just down the road is Hepburn which comes alive at weekends with its popular cafes, restaurants and wine bars. For the active there are numerous walking trails leading to mineral springs, and the Hepburn Golf Club welcomes visitors to its 18 hole course in a bushland setting. The newly renovated Hepburn Bathhouse & Day Spa offers public and private mineral water bathing, mineral water spa and floatation pools and dry and wet day spa treatment rooms.
